hanging off the birch tree

your photograph fades
all the colours
turning shades of pink.
Kodak was not an achivist
like the Victorians were.
And now our memories are digital
subject to fluxes of magnetism
and degraded hard drives.
There's nothing of me left
for your grandchildren to see.
