We had a fantastic meal in here at a mexican-ish restaurant and finished the night with a trip to the cinema inside to see 'Dark Knight' (a bit over-long, IMO)

Again - the architecture and history is just amazing! I've googled both Black Gate and Newcastle and have read some fascinating stuff.
What - however - is dog's leap steps?
And - the night pic that talks of the taxis and buses...which one is it that is shown?
The yellow picture is of the pedestrian walkway of High Bridge, which is closed to traffic except buses and taxis.
Dog Leap Steps (or stair) is a long set of 180 or so steps leading from Castle Garth to the Side. the name refers to 'a narrow slip of ground between houses'and has a series of switchbacks. It led originally from the quay to the postern gate.
Ahh!
And Rachel? I was making a joke about the taxi and bus...
You see - if you read what you've written - you say the bridge is closed for taxis and buses only - and then there is a - erm - larger person in the pic....bad joke?
Ah! I see.
That's Luisa, Wyfe number two, so I would say a taxi.
Ahh! I hope she has a sense of humour!
It's just that your words....oh - I wonder how my other foot tastes?
Good one aims, that made me chuckle!! Lovely entry Rach. Super photos, especially the night ones. Glad you managed to have a good meal. I'll catch up with Dark Night when it's on sky!
That's probably best K and I were both suffering from lack of leg room in the cinema.
Love the pictures!
