Lowering sight

The heads of poppy seeds.
These are in the front garden - I hope they seeded profusely.

I love poppies.

A feather
beaded with rainwater
caught on brambles

Yellow pea-flowers of vetch -
late to bloom.
Still time for seed?

Snail among broom seeds
My garden broom lost to them
in early summer.

Bright stars of ragwort
Poisonous to horses
but oh-so pretty.

I can never think of comments that match up to the gorgeousness of your photos. I always try and fail to think of something profound. So I'll just say that I love the flowers and snail :)

Thank you, B; much appreciated!

I love poppies too. We don't have any in our garden but I'm thinking of getting some. Both of my neighbours have Icelandic poppies. The nice thing about them is that they bloom for such a long time. Seems spring right through until late August. And - there is just something about a poppy - even in a picture. It makes me sad and glad - you know what I mean?

I'm with B - sometimes words fail when it comes to your pics. Sometimes....:0)

The ragwort made me smile. Such lovely bright and sunny faces on this very gray and rainy day here.

I think poppies are my second favourite plant, after lupins.
