Welcome
They welcome her, these slithy ghosts
with promises and candied peel
and when she tries to take her leave
discovers that there is no deal
between the living and the passed
but that which makes her lose her head
for which the ghosts all hunger for
unless she has a plan instead.

I like the poem and the art. Those ghosts don't look that scary.
She definitely has a problem on her hands! Beautiful poem and wonderful art.
I enjoyed this - don't know if you intended it or if I just brought it myself, but it has a kind of Lewis Carroll flavor to it. Very nice!
Thank you all :)
fourwinds: I'm just not very good at ghosts!
Sandy: She does indeed, but manages in the end
Deborah - It wasn't intentional, but I'm pleased to hear you say that.
Lovely, but with that hint of chill.
thanks Anthony!
I love your painting. The poem is intriguing... meddling with pesky ghosts. Hope there's a happy ending. She looks up to the challenge to me. As I typed this I was thinking that I really wrote about ghosts this week too... the ghosts of my childhood memories and the confusion that carried into my adult life.
Thanks for dropping in, Raven. I'm glad you found the poem enjoyable, at least ;) She is up to the challenge, fortunately.
Nice work -
Thanks, Tumble ;)
Love your watercolor! She looks like she has a plan indeed.
