an insect caught in amber
wrapped in purple silk
as a lucky charm,
bought from a exotic traveller
who gave her dysentery.

That's quite a charm - and how I love amber. So soft and warm against the skin - yet it traps the unsuspecting doesn't it? In more ways than one.

Alas, I don't trust Amber.

Thank you kindly dear lady.
(Don't tell Billy you've been here -- he'll get defensive about his harem!

I loved the rhythm of the poem. And it is really a clever one. Beautiful picture btw too :)

I don't think anyone, or anything, other than Mrs Billy, can come between that man and his growing harem, do you?

I do lurk at your blog, and don't always post because sometimes the words and images leave me wordless...

Lurking is fine :) Quite a few people lurk at my other blogs, too ;)

lol, poor girl! I have an amber droplet, I've had it for years. No idea where I acquired it. Lovely illustration.
