Like crows eating blueberries
on a crowded Minneapolis dinosaur
(plastic, on the side of the I-94,
advertising silver decrees)
I dust the bones
of an ancient pictograph
and imagine a paper skyline –
splashes of dirty poems
suspended from perforated maps.
On hot afternoon in America
remembered on a damp winter morning
with broken biscuits
and an old clay teapot.
