Suck a simple drink, it seems
and yet the stuff of many dreams
the tea I drink is not the stuff
of supermarket cheapy stuff.
Assam for strength is always nice
or Chai if you prefer the spice.
Often ‘Rington’s’ brand suffices
to keep my hedonistic vices
though a sample of the green
or white leaf tea is often seen
to grace the after-dinner table
I like my tea whene’er I’m able.
Herbal teas are well and good
when aches and pains, misunderstood
are desired to go away
and not return another day
but given choice I’d rather drink
the Rington’s brand until I sink.

I went there you know, to where they pick the tea you love. It puts an entirely different spin on drinking tea. Once again, I'm bowled over by your wonderful abilities to write these kinds of verses. I liked the one a few posts ago about the brew so strong you could stand a fork in it. It's a very refreshing place to come for a giggle, your site.
How super! I'm not sure i'd want to see tea picked - it might put me off it altogether.
I'm glad my poems bring a smile, though.
It's amazing how you can get attached to a certain brand isn't it? I know I've had tea that I just couldn't drink - and then I have my favorite!
My tastes changed when I gave up smoking. There are few teas I enjoy more.
Lovely poem, Rach, no Earl Grey? Great self portrait too and Trixy looks a treat!
Thank you Gina
