The First Trinity

Do you remember the first Trinity,
where God was balanced by his first made son
and by the Holy Breath of Life? To me
it seemed to work, to be a kingdom come
to pass in Heaven and on Earth below
until He made another son which brought
dissent among the angels – all too slow
we angels realised the love we sought
was on condition of obedience
and lack of talking back – “But Lord,” I’d say
“such cruelty can not be countenanced
these mortal men will not survive a day.”
But God remade the Trinity: the Breath
of Life made male and Lucifer made death.
