Jack-be-Dandy Yellow
She remembers dandelions – bright eyes like golden studs in grassand later, when the summerstretched lazy fingers into hairand tickled with fronds of barley and timothythe buttercups, candy-sweet amongthe daisies and spikes of purple cloverand the reflected yellow on chins“Do you like butter?”

Oh! I had forgotten, too. We don't really get buttercups here, but we did where I lived as a child. Wow, Rachel, and the plethora of memories evoked with this one. Beautiful.
