An open sided bench
one side facing the graves
the other,
the distant trees and houses.
I am left to wonder
which way a person sits
To remember the dead
or reflect upon life?

Maybe the best way is to lie upon it and look at the sky?
How interesting. I like Nat's suggestion, I think. The cemetery is lovely.
It was lovlier before they started felling trees.
google alerted me this - love the photo and the thought-provoking poem - cemeteries make lovely photo opportunities.
I was inspired by your post :)
Gotta love google alerts
Spacedlaw has a good suggestion.
Or perhaps lying looking down.
Depends on where we think the deceased went I guess....
It's a slatted bench so one could look down :)
Death comes soon enough. I choose to reflect on life as long as I have it.
Very wise :)
Came from Gerald's site because I love benches! I was rewarded seeing "yours" and enjoyed the poetry also. After reflecting on the graves looking towards the cemetary, one can reflect on life looking the other direction! Seeing the path closer to the cemetary, I am almost certain no one looks the other way while sitting there. . .
I enjoyed your bench. Tank you!
Tank you = Thank you from a typist with a typo.
:o(
Thanks for visiting, Perbs. I think most people look at the graves.
I put another bench pic up today, and have you seen DJ Kirkby's blog?
