I fear that I would have shed a tear over a little lost life - yet known that this is the way of nature - of cats - of bugs and stinging creatures with sharp little teeth.
Still - a dustbin - I suppose that would have been the repository for me too as burials beneath the trees is something that died with my youth.

If I buried everything the cat killed... the dogs would dig them up again.
What a lovely gesture (both the cats and you, I suppose). Poor thrush though, its song cut off too soon.
Cats just love to bring us presents, don't they? We sometimes rescue the odd one, but mostly it's too late. Beautiful words.
