As strange as this sounds, I have opened this picture several times. I don't know that I've ever seen a chestnut tree and I didn't realize how large they are. I love the texture of the trunk. The composition of this is just wonderful. I linked over to your blog again the other day. No surprise there. I do so every now and again because I love sharing your creativity.
Did I ever mention that Cid gave me a very small chestnut shoot - maybe 6" at the time? We planted it and protected it and now 9 years later it's about 3 feet high.
We call it Cid or Cid's tree.
Chestnuts are not a natural tree in Alberta. I am looking forward to watching it grow and to forever have my memories of Cid growing in my front yard.
btw - missed you that last couple of days but I see the results were really worth the wait.
Alas, I had set dogsbite up so far in advance that I was in danger of posting bare trees in June! I only noticed today that it had run out of pictures.

Super photo Rachel, the gate makes it. My chestnut tree is quite big but no flowers yet!
