Dogfield Evening

03-06-10 dogfield, evening

It's rare that I take the dogs for an evening walk. I only did this time because on my morning walk I'd spotted some plants in one of the cemetery bins and couldn't carry them at the time. It's amazing what people throw away. They buy these made-up pots of plants from Morisson's --a pot with, say, two polyanthus, an Ivys and three daffodils -- and replace it when it's finished flowering. I get it out of the bin and have three bulbs for next year, an ivy for the garden and if I'm luckyI can rescue the polyanthus for next year too.

Exactly, though I'm told it's bad luck to take home flowers from a cemetery.

Nonsense, it's great - and the flowers will live on - unlike the cemetery occupants!!

Some of last year's take-homes are flowering well.
