You know I'm fascinated with the beach huts you have there. We just don't have anything at all like them and I rarely get to see any pictures of them.

Any 'spotting' of them gets me! My mind goes flying off trying to figure out what goes on inside them - what they are like inside - who uses them - how long have they been in use on your beaches - blah blah blah....... :0)

They're a Victorian invention for changing into your bathing suits in private. One would hire them by the day. They were originally made with wheels to be rolled into the water and avoid people looking at you as you walked down the beach.

Modern beach huts tend to be static at the top of the beach, still used to change in but more often then not rented for a whole year by local residents to keep their belongings safe and somewhere to brew the tea.

Thanks Ashi -- I seem amorous sparrows and a pair of magpies so far.
