Was this building used for something else prior to the bingo farm? That's an incredible amount of work for an entrance gate for the blue-haired dabbers.
The gate is an artistis sculpture to mark the industrial walk. The site used to house the steel works for the railway. R L Stephenson lived in Chesterfield.

Wow! That's a beautiful gate! What lies behind is interesting since you call it Mecca......tell?
If you enlarge it you can see the letters do indeed spell 'MECCA' -- Mecca Bingo.
