Unless You're a Hairdresser

You teach me to defend
but I cannot attack.
My ex punched me in the face
until my cheek ripped against my teeth
but despite the blood
all I did was walk out
and I still cannot hurt someone
without their hands on me.
All my life my beloveds have cheated on me
without my straying once
(it is my nature to be inadequate)
but touch one hair of my daughter's head
and I will end you.
