Detritus of daily life
scattered around the keyboard where my days
are spent hammering out novels or
(more usual these days, it seems) playing games.
Vitamin D next to a saucer of orange peel and apple cores;
tablets (blood pressure, thyroxin, HRT, anti-depressants)
and a tube of effervescent soluble minerals which leave a pile of grit
in the bottom of my water glass. Phone, notepaper, hair ties.
hanging from a hook above the monitor
