brightly coloured jigsaw
toned done by Payne's Grey
and Prussian blue
Shellac based inks
wash over an uneven surface
thick layers of impasto.
The dog stands on it,
leans against it
carries the Prussian blue
to the sofa blanket, the floor;
the doorframe and she squeezes past.
Now I have to keep this old cloth forever
because the pawprints
bring me joy
