a brief interlude
of lopping a birch branch
and carting it away.
Later, in front of the PC,
a itch across my bare shoulders.
I discover a caterpillar
late in the season
a species I don't recognise.
Returned to the birch
it seems happy enough
but all day long
I suffer formication
even after two showers
