leaves time to contemplate the hoardings

The Royal Philharmonic
Overpriced Gucci.
Watching a rat
navigate the rails
foraging for sustenance among the dust
a rush of warm air
as the southbound train disgorges residents
the clatter of heels
echoing from Victorian tiles.
Silence.
