wet and raining
against the crocosmia
lush green grass

a knot of sparrows
clouding the silver birch.
feeders of all kinds
hang from the branches
nuts, seeds, fat balls.
I'm pleased to discover
this is a Good Thing
according the wildlife experts
bringing an increase
to populations of native birds.
I just do it
because I like to watch them.
