with a long-term girlfriend
who was pleasant enough
but I wanted more:
the elegant, ballet dancing girl
from the big house on the canal.
Sally and I were friends
and I soured our relationship
with wanting more.
I'm sorry, both of you,
but dammit, she was fine.
