there are times when you talk rubbish
like all these 'we were too poor to...'
statements you come out with.
We were never poor,
not as a family.
We had a roof over our heads
warmth to relax in;
enough to eat and drink
enough surplus to keep a dog
and you all had a computer
loaded with the latest games.
Don't give me 'we were too poor'
when you had so many Barbie dolls
you could cut their feet off without worry
and had a bedroom to yourself
your whole life.
