Davies; a weaselly man
with a perpetual whistle around his neck
his badge of office as a PE teacher.
In the seventies, he was allowed to use
words like 'pansy' and 'poofter'
and didn't think this was abuse
toward the ten-year-olds in his care.
If only he's known he wasn't 'toughening up'
the two or three kids
who didn't want to play football,
but reaffirming their choices
they didn't want to grow up like him.
