flurry of activity
the scurrying of bodies
garden rats

Michael and his brothers
had the best board games;
ones I'd never seen elsewhere
when we were in junior school.
We were friends for a couple of years
and I learned to love the tiny worlds
depicted in paint and coloured cards;
so much so, as an adult I amassed hundreds;
roomfuls of games
with no-one else to play them.
Making up for lost childhood
I still have boxes of board games
stored away in the loft.
Idiot child I am.
