drizzling rain
I'll plant spring bulbs
another day

anger at A & E
when the wait to see a doctor
becomes intolerable.
The nurse is sympathetic
but there's nothing she can do:
she's overworked and underpaid
and has to use a food bank
to make ends meet.
There's a lack of staff thanks to cuts
and the denial of work visas after Brexit.
She'll go on strike tomorrow.
She doesn't want to
but what choice does she have,
when she can't raise her children
on a nurse's pay.
