gale force winds
clattering along the street
windy schoolkids

Your goosebury bushes
where I searched for babies
before I learned about sex
all gone to the bulldozer now.
The lilac tree
where we buried our cats and rabbits;
the raspberry canes with their sweet, sweet fruit;
the lines of peas, where tiny hands pulled free the pods
and the asparagus ferns
grown because they were beautiful,
all gone.
Did they ever exist, or is it all I dream I had
with no-one to share it any longer.
