she pastes encaustic wax
on a canvas taller than herself,
filling our shared space
with the smell of heated petroleum.
Her ideas are magical
but her choice of materials
leave much to be desired. She thinks
she will earm points with the Head of Course
who also uses the medium but
his works are just as awful
and I know he lied about his degree.
