annual chore
of making holiday cards
and finding the money for postage.
The Royal Mail has put the prices up
in time to cash in on the holiday
and the hundred we send out
go to America, Canada, Australia;
where the price of a stamp
includes pollution and global warming
but guaranteed delivery
is officially a thing of the past.
Pay, post and hope.

How I know about the 'pay, post and hope'.
One year, I sent a CHRISTMAS card to friend. And he didn't get until the next April.
I guess it was doing the Cook's tour while finding its way to its' recipient.
