Prayers to Helminthius,
patron saint of parasitic worms,
does little to relieve the pain.
The problem is their right to life
is equal to our own
and the rights of the microscopic eggs
buried deep in the flesh
of those gourmet filet mignon bites
are protected by the Embryo Act
that all the Republicans uphold
as long as they don't have to pay out
in paternity suits.
