we stop noticing inflation
when so many politicians
make outrageous claims against minorities;
immigrants, transwomen, Jews, Muslims --
soup was one of the cheapest foods
and now it's two pounds a can
but we're told it's those greedy farmers,
or those Hamas terrorists
or that recent drought.
Nothing to do with Brexit
or the rapidly heating Earth.
All politicians lie.
I might just vote for the next one who admits
they're in it for the embezzling opportunities.
