wheelie bins
lined up along the streets
Dawnguard sentinels
against the disorder of the home,
each one a cubic half-meter
of incorruptible landfill.
No problem for future archaeologists
to sift through the detritus of our lives:
it'll all still be intact;
plastic bottles, plastic lives
and they'll assume a perceived value
we attached to our bodily functions
with thousand year old plastic bottles
of preserved motorway urine.
