I cannot, for the very life of me
dredge up ideas for my work today
for though in dire need of poetry
I can do no more than sit and play
upon my phone, this marvel of the modern age
which has more power than the desktops of my youth
with the secrets of the on every page
to filter all the lies and find the truth
amidst the misdirection of the news
where Trump will say "look over there! I think
that China makes the earthquakes! Take your views
away from this me and Epstein stink."
and sadly, Ronald Schmidt from Illinois
assassinates the woman who divorced his boy.
