he takes a photograph
that shows enduring beauty
his subject is a pensioner;
overweight in the belly
underweight in the neck and face;
bones clearly visible under taut skin
and muscles snaking though her dancer's legs.
She looks pensive;
she doesn't see beauty in the mirror;
just a future cadaver
still walking.
