while the heat causes earthquakes

In the early summer
Devon Egg
called his brother's answering machine
Brian is on vacation.
Neighbors report Brian as missing
and the police visit his San Francisco home
but leave when nobody answers.
Other people are seen coming and going
and in mid-August,
a crime scene clean-up van.
Again neighbors call the police,
who discover a room with a hidden door.
In the room was a fish tank,
where they find Brian’s body,
minus head and hands.
Two suspects are arrested,
but later released.
