morning heat
picking up on the street
end of school litter

she calls it her blue period
as if she were an artist
or a musician
but she's only a poet
and not a good one at that.
No woman holds her self-published collection aloft
and berates the establishment
for its casual transphobia,
or says 'she speaks to me
like no other has before,'
Instead, her rambling prose
of early life in semi-rural England
lauds only prostitution
and credit card abuse.
