perfect morning
as the trams rattle past
stereo snoring

with rice paper on the bottom
just like Mum used to make.
I'm taken back half a century
to the TV room in Alvechurch
with the built-in cupboard
and the crazy seventies wallpaper
with Crackerjack on the telly
and a whole weekend of no school.
