The Crooked House in Himley
was never my local
but I frequented it often
in the early nineties
last month it burned down
two weeks after being sold
and contrary to instructions
was immediately bulldozed to nothing.
Can't help feeling something crooked was afoot
but the police have arrested three arsonists
thanks to the publicity.
Sometimes it takes newspaper headlines
to encourage to coppers
to do an actual job.
