Three AM barking

An old couple
park outside the house
at six in the morning.
I watch from the bedroom window
as he gets out with his bags and suit carrier,
hands the keys to his wife for safekeeping
because she told him before
about how the damage the pockets
of his suit trousers.
I assume religious zealots
and anticipate another doorstep argument
on why their God is the Right One.
