she has allergies, sneezing often
in surprising circumstances
most notably around politicians
when her expulsions are prefixed by buh-
and people look at her oddly,
unsure of the cause of the outburst
and she has to explain,
elegant fingers drawing air quotes,
the translation of nonsensical promises
where "a positive approach to pensions'
combined with 'a reduction in winter fuel payments'
means 'old people will die, saving us money.'
