long walk
for a second-hand settee
fuck that price

A box of wires and reams of paper
saved for a future when such was needed
but boxed and stored away in loft, vapour
are the thoughts where future work is seeded.
But sorted through again, in Death Cleaning
where I rid myself these anchors to the past
while picking through this cardboard box and gleaning
for things I never used, to use at last.
I save again a pair of glasses, snug,
that fold and fold, and take no space at all,
an EU to UK adapter plug,
Bluetooth earphones inside a charging ball.
Yet still, a box of boardgames calls to mind
a time when friends were not so rare to find.
