II.V
A woman in her nightie comes outside
oblivious to the wind and frozen ground,
she isn't wearing knickers and has nothing left to hide
as she hits the man with punches, straight and sound.
The driver of the car steps back, to watch
the spectacle of husband-beater wife
but against the frozen concrete words are lost
but clear is this panoply of life.
The woman pauses from her bold attack
and points toward the driver who he stopped
gesticulating signs of buying stash
when hubby, open mouthed, the penny drops.
