VII.III
The windows in the nearby tower blocks
that overlook the roofs of maisonettes
can view the footprint trails she's made a locks
a little map of crime inside their heads.
From the tenant's walk from home to where he jumped
and hers when she investigated fall;
to patches trod around his skylight clumped
that prove unlawful entrance clear to all.
What can she do but sweep away the snow
displaying guilt of one crime, maybe two
that indicates complicity in flow
of footprints when her avarice had grew.
