favourite mug
lost to vigorous stirring
scalded legs

This morning's sunshine soon replaced by cloud
and brings depression flooding into town;
the gusts of wind from yesterday brought loud
crashings from the garden as things were blown
from patio to greenhouse, smashing pots
and panes of glass which cost an arm and leg;
a rain of unripe plums, apples and hops
and laundry torn from someone's washing pegs.
Next-door's sun-shade canopy takes off,
and ends up wrapped around the crooked spire
Folk along the street have had enough
and blue bins have their lids held on with wire.
In case the wrath that Nature shows seems tame
Farage fuels the racist riots again.
