valued advice

Once upon a time there was an Uncle George
known to me only by the goldfish tank
he gave me once; a fish within that gorged
itself on all the other carp who died and sank.
I knew nothing more, except for cards I earned
signed "Aunty Betty, Uncle Bob and Julie"
and it wasn't until later that I learned
the enmity between the brothers duly
earned upon their parent's death before my birthing
when Grandad left his house to Dad and all his cash
to Bob, the elder son, who by the wording
of the will then took all the contents of the house.
My father, with his young wife and daughter
was left with nothing but the bricks and mortar.
