Intruder

she creeps into the garden
with a 'don't mind me'
and a flick of orange tail
among the lavender bushes –
makes herself at home
among the red-plumed helmets
of crocosmia,
out of sight of the windows
and the dog barks
and the clatter of the neighbour's dustbins.
our cat can see her
from the bedroom window
just the tip of his tail
flicking
with a 'don't mind me'
and a flick of orange tail
among the lavender bushes –
makes herself at home
among the red-plumed helmets
of crocosmia,
out of sight of the windows
and the dog barks
and the clatter of the neighbour's dustbins.
our cat can see her
from the bedroom window
just the tip of his tail
flicking

Cemetery Walk, Sun, Rain
and a 'Marty the Zebra' hand puppet!
You can put two gingers in his snout and animate that, too.
When the council do a roof, they even bring their own portaloo
The Poplar tree and the hawthorn beneath it
Far away...
...near
Sycamore
Hmm.
Next door have taken their 'for sale' sign down.
Is it sold or did they take it off the market?
Nute.
Best served with ketchup.

More Eww
What had happened was that the mains ignition switch on the gas hob had got wet and shorted out the ring circuit. This happens when a pan boils over, when Aimee spills a drink or when, like today, the cat has projectile vomited over it.
May I say 'Ewww?'
Silver Birch on Hunloke Crescent
as soon as I step on the field
Long. Wet. Grass.
Autumn colours in the cemetery.
See? There are two of them.
Three dogs. One lead.

Cake Pudding
* Put 4 tablespoons of plain flour, 4 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cocoa in a mug and mix thoroughly.
* Add 1 egg, and mix well.
* Add 3 tablespoons of milk and 3 tablespoons of oil – mix again until well combined.
* If desired, add chocolate chips and a splash of vanilla.
* Microwave the mug for 3 minutes at 1000 watts or 4 minutes at 700 watts (the cake will rise above the top of the mug but don’t panic!)
* Allow to cool, turn out onto a plate if you like.
* Apparently margarine tastes better than oil – but you have to add this before the egg and milk instead of after.
There are still roses blooming in Chesterfield.
and Seven Trent Water have come to mend the stop tap. To do so, they've dug a 4'deep hole.
DON'T click to enlarge.

Sunset garden
This is the seating area outside the kitchen door. We have a lot of seating areas in the garden but this is the most commonly used. Plants in pots and solar lights and a sturdy bench that K won in a school raffle long before I met her.I like blue in the garden. People get bored when I paint everything blue but it goes so well with the plantage.
The upturned pot is for a cup of tea and there's another bench facing this one (I'm sat on it taking the photo.)

To the left of this picture, just before the four foot drop, is
a chimnea that K's mum bought her for her birthday a few years ago.
That's rather pretty, too. Cast iron and covered in rust. If you click on the image to full-size it, you can see the setting sun on the house in the three blue balls.
And this is the cat, Nute, studiously not making a decision. She's always been one to sit on the fence.
