Frabjous Sky

Dramatic sky today

though few decent photographs to be had.

I like the line of poplars here. I know very few cemeteries where poplars are so popular.

View from under the spreading chestnut trees.

Trickster found a small-boy sized hole under the thorny sloe thicket. It was strewn with beer cans.

A field I rarely venture to -- too full of kids and other dogs to let mine have a run.

Soggy football pitch, fabulous sky.

Blooming Flowers and Mad dogs

Why there's a clump of pampas grass on the wetland field I don't know.

Fuchsias still flowering in the garden

as are the nasturtiams

I got this at the weekend. I had just enough in gift vouchers for it, and it's signed, too.

Garden spider.

This ARC arrived but I have no idea where it came from. Did I win it or am I reviewing it for someone?
YA,

In Other News I lost Jack today. He ran off chasing the scent of a dog or fox or something. I called and called but he didn;t come back. I gave up after an hour and went home, called Luisa. Nothing she could do, but I had to tell somebody. He has his tag, but the number on it is DK's mobile, currently switched off for the next 10 days in the Buddhist retreat.

Another hour went by and I put on coat and shoes to look for him again (in a lot of pain, I might add), open the door and he shoots in, covered in mud with a half-closed eye. Super. I phoned Luisa to tell her.

He's fine now.

A new Field

We turned away from the cemetery today and went to the site of a disused factory. DK and I went there a few years ago when we still had Holly dog but then it was a bare patch of waste ground. Now its a rich wetland habitat, crowded with wild flowers and trees.

I still love teasels, despite the thousands that come up in our garden every year

An old rusted and crushed incinerator. I could rally do with a whole version of this for growing potatoes in.

I tried to show the wetlands. Bear padded through the 6" water easily but Trickster had problems.

I doubt that even Rowan could mend this bike. It has ten speeds, all of them 'stop'.

Who isn't cheered by a daisy?

Greenery Snickets

A hidden pathway
followed with the dogs on leads
Does it go our way?

Delightful result!
Sheds I haven't seen before,
beautiful decay

Urban closures in
the public's best interests?
I'd love to live here.

Private fishing lake
with public access - Last time
I brought Holly-dog.

Dogs love hidden fields
and I let them run freely
for a little while.
A multitude of thistles
fill the air with fairies
