Rusted parrafin lamp
still lights our path
better then dead fairy lights.
Echinacea blooms --
cheerful daisies
among the nasturtiums.
Dark clouds over the meadow

Plastic flowers

One wonders why.

Why indeed? Maybe the plastic flower dreamt of becoming a real one?
Ahh! Horse chestnuts. Cid gave us a little chestnut tree shoot years ago and it is about 3 feet high now. I wonder when we will get chestnuts. We call it Cid's tree of course. It looks more like a bush at the moment - but I'm patient about some things. Chestnut trees are not something that is in abundance here in Alberta.
Lovely pics again today Rachel.
You should see a flower or two in a few years, Aims. I love chestnut trees. If you follow Spacedlaw's blog (above) she posted a haiga of sweet chestnuts.
I have a little chestnut tree at the side of our meadow. There's a bigger one in the orchard but it hasn't flowered yet. I can't wait for my own conkers!
Lovely photos.
