on the sofa
odd dreams about a house I've never lived in
and the non-payment of rent
by a previous tenant.
I try to fit Lego pieces into a box
but the Disney princesses are too tall
and all the while the shower floods the bathroom
while the washing machine overflows
and the landlady watches me
as I clean the mud from the garden
with her white, white towels.
