overnight rainbrings the scent of cut grass
olfactory screaming

a glass of wine, a scented bath, complete
with candlelight and radio Mozart;
my mind at ease, the ghosts at rest, replete
with memories from which I'll never part.
A piece of stainless steel, so deftly used
twixt fingers made to hold an artist's brush
to paint a streak of fresher blood in hues
of scarlet 'gainst the bathroom tiles. A hush
as all the fears of life society
portrays are eased upon the gentle shore
of sweet relief - there is no piety
in death by one's own hand. A life no more
to bless the hateful earth with Art or Prose
into the shadow's mystery she goes.
